I'm so sorry to see so many people in dire need for help. I'm one of you.
I had a job. It didn't pay very well, but I hung in there for 21 years (state job). I was assaulted about three years ago. They harmed me and broken six teeth out at my gums. I have medical problems: Damaged liver, kidney, heart, internal bleeding, very weak, sleep 14 hours a day and still tired, all from this assault. I tried keep my job for two years. My coworkers knew that I was have a great deal of pain, as I couldn't hide it. Then my boss told me that I had to take a disability. I knew that this would not pay for my bills, but he told me that I would be fired if I didn't do this. I tried lawyers and the EEO and the ULC and everyone that I find in the phonebook, but they all said that since this is a "right to work" state that they could fire me for a disability. I tried to find a job, but I can't even apply for a job, because I have a disability. I don't have the money to keep up the disability so I'm loosing that as well.
I did have a small savings, but it is gone now.
I have tried to work with the Vocational Rehabilitation for over a year. They have told me that the SBA has good grants to start a business, but so far they haven't even answered my questions about grants. I haven't found any other help which I qualify for. I don't have much heat in the house, my food is very low. I have been able to get my prescriptions so far. I am in danger of loosing my house. I have been homeless before, when I was young, and I do not think that I will survive without my house. I have had some church people visiting, but they want help from me. I cannot help them, so it looks like they will quit coming to my house.
Any financial help would be helpful. Any helpful responses also. But I have enoughy of "hang in there" and "God will help you" and "sorry" to pave the whole world (getting a bad attitude, can you tell!)
